MyStartupWorld: In its first year of operations, Egyptian fleet fintech Octane hit EGP 1 billion in fuel sales — processing 800,000 transactions across 75,000 vehicles, 500+ corporate clients, and 2,400 fuel stations.

EGP 1 Billion in Year One

Octane, the Cairo-based NFC fleet payment platform, achieved EGP 1 billion in fuel sales within its first year of operations — a milestone that CEO Amr Gamal called a validation of both the scale of the problem and the speed of adoption. The number represents 800,000 individual fuel transactions processed through the platform, tied to specific vehicles and drivers via NFC tags, with zero cash changing hands.

    The Metrics Behind the Milestone

The EGP 1 billion figure is built on a foundation of operational scale: 75,000 vehicles under management, 500+ active corporate clients, and a network of 2,400 fuel stations across seven domestic and international fuel companies operating in Egypt. Each transaction is recorded in real time, generating a compliant e-invoice and feeding the fleet manager's dashboard with spend data that was previously invisible.

    What the Number Signals

For fleet operators still managing fuel on paper and cash, the EGP 1 billion figure is a proof point — not just that Octane works, but that businesses are actively switching at scale. Octane achieved this in 12 months without a large sales force, driven primarily by referrals from existing clients who had seen measurable cost reductions and were recommending the platform internally within holding groups and supply chains.

    The Road Ahead

Gamal noted that the first year's performance was built entirely on the core fuel payment product. The pipeline at the time of the announcement included the O-Care maintenance authorization module, O-Store consumables marketplace, and MINT predictive maintenance AI — each representing an additional category of fleet spend that Octane intends to digitize. The EGP 1 billion milestone was, he said, the floor, not the ceiling.
